The rosehip (Cynorrhodon)
More often known as the rosehip, it is the fruit of the rosehip, a thorny shrub that grows along the paths. The fruit, rich in vitamins, is ripe in late summer, when the berries are bright red and full of seeds and those popular scratchy hairs. Rosehip also makes an excellent jam and is said to have diuretic properties in the form of a tea. Rosehip requires maceration before distillation as it is low in natural sugar. The eau de vie thus obtained gives original and sophisticated flavours.
